“I arrived destroyed and very weak. Knowing that I was alone and having left my family made me feel very fragile. But now, after 10 months, I have changed entirely. Iʼm a mature person knowing that I have myself and that I alone am my own family.”

“The cash aid was instrumental in helping us move forward after the Eaton fires. We used the money to help replace baby items that had been smoke-damaged. Our baby came in February, and we had everything she needed to thrive. So many tears of gratitude have been shed.”

Postpartum care when home is far away

When mothers flee danger while pregnant or with newborns, they face an impossible journey. Our Mamas at the Border program provides comprehensive support to migrant mothers and birthing people in Tijuana who are navigating pregnancy, birth, and early parenting while seeking asylum.
