What better way to kick-start a Saturday morning than with movement, community, and time to recharge?
4th Trimester teamed up with Foothill Family to host a special wellness workshop for postpartum parents and families affected by the wildfires — a partnership rooted in a shared commitment to supporting families through recovery. Held in the beautiful, sunlit space at Whimsy Pasadena, the morning offered a chance to slow down, reconnect with our bodies, and spend meaningful time together in a supportive community.
Choreographer and wellness instructor Brittany guided families through a 45-minute movement session designed specifically for those in the postpartum period, harmoniously blending gentle yoga, Pilates, and restorative stretching. The session left room for each person to breathe deeply, listen to their body, and move at their own rhythm.
Before class, our families enjoyed unique handcrafted lattes and sweet matcha drinks from Slow Beginnings Coffee, along with a delicious, nourishing breakfast. Truly a perfect way to kick-start a well-deserved Saturday morning reset!
While parents focused on their wellness, their little ones had a full, exciting morning of play and exploration with 4th Trimester volunteers, whether diving straight into the ball-pit with a new friend, expressing their creativity through arts and crafts, or even joining their parents on the mat for a moment of tranquility and stretching. We love nothing more than the liveliness and laughter that fills the room when our families gather. These moments are necessary, and it was heartwarming to see the whole family create new memories through a collective experience.
The workshop transcended beyond just a morning yoga class; it was an opportunity to connect with other parents and remember that healing happens best in community, and a reminder that no family should have to face recovery alone.
Thank you to all our families who showed up and stretched out. We are especially grateful to Foothill Family, who invited 4th Trimester to partner and took care of every detail — the space, the activities, the food — so that we could focus on what we do best: bringing our families together. We loved seeing the energy and joy radiating so brightly throughout the room and our families spending the remainder of their day feeling a bit more rejuvenated and supported.
We are excited to invite our wildfire-impacted families back next week for a second movement workshop with an interactive parent-child class. We look forward to continuing to support our families in honoring their minds and bodies through mindfulness and movement.
